BP Fantasy Top 10: shortstop

Playing fantasy baseball this season? Well you’re in luck because here are the Top Ten Short Stops that you need to draft during your fantasy draft this season.

  1. Carlos Correa, Hou: The shortstop position in fantasy baseball is basically, Correa then all the rest. If you want to have a positional advantage at shortstop, Correa is your guy. Yes there are a couple others with value at their draft positions, but they will not give you the offensive output Correa will. With that said, the young Astro can do it all. If you look at his numbers in just half the season last year, it compared with full seasons of his counterparts. This guy is the real deal.
  1. Troy Tulowitzki, Tor: The knock on Tulo has always been his health. When healthy, he has been an absolute force. Even when being shipped from Colorado to Toronto, he suffered an injury. He just cannot knock the bug. That is the big reason he has slid outside the top-20 in many drafts and is no longer the name at the shortstop position. However, if health somehow is on his side, watch out! He could put up a boatload of stats in that Blue Jays juggernaut.
  1. Xander Bogaerts, Bos: This is where we start to see a dip in the shortstop production and thus, their draft positions as well. Bogaerts, a talented young player that will more than likely bat third for the Red Sox this season, as he did much of last year. His .320 batting average was nothing to blow off as his is a solid contact hitter. Remaining in the three-hole for Boston will be his most value asset, as it provides him a chance to drive in runs.
