Game 45: Yanks Take Subway Series on 8-Run 7th

Hitting with runners in scoring position has been one of the biggest flaws in our game this season. The Yankees addressed that in today’s finale of the Subway Series in the Bronx. The Yankees went 5 for 10 with runners in scoring position today and had an 8-run 7th inning without a home run. Prior to the 7th inning, Mike Pelfrey was stifling the Yankees whenever they got runners on, forcing them to be 0 for 11 with runners on base.

Ivan Nova had a bend-not-break outing as he went 6.2 innings and gave up 11 hits but only 3 runs.
