Game 50: Walk-Off Single In 12

Tonight was another game against a powerful righty. Today was Felix Hernandez and like Pineda yesterday, he did not have his best stuff. The Mariners stretched King Felix for 7 innings on 128 pitches and he gave up 4 runs, much more than we have been able to do in the past 4 encounters with the Cy Young Award winner (0.51 ERA in the past 4 starts).

Ivan Nova was not effective at all tonight as he went 3.2 innings and allowed as many runs as Hernandez.

The Yankees were ineffective with runners in scoring position by going 1 for 9.

Adam Kennedy drove in the game-winning run with a bloop single in front of Curtis Granderson off of Mariano Rivera.

Derek Jeter set a franchise record tonight but it was not 3,000 hits. He got a stolen base in the 3rd inning and that was his 327th stolen base, surpassing the franchise record of 326 set by Rickey Henderson.
