Game 51: Grandy Goes Grand

New York Yankees 9 — Detroit Tigers 4

Granderson hits a grand slam against his former team over the Detroit Tigers by a score of 9-4 tonight.

Curtis Granderson burned his old team in the 2nd inning with a grand slam off of Detroit starter Casey Crosby. Four walks prior to the grand slam led to the first run of the game when Derek Jeter got ball four. Alex Rodriguez completed the offense for the Yankees with a two-run home run in the 9th inning off of former Yankee, Octavio Dotel.

CC Sabathia went deep into the game as expected with 7 innings of three-run baseball. Quinton Berry was a problem as 2 of his 3 hits were for extra bases and he scored two of the Tigers 4 runs. The bullpen put together the rest of the game and Rafael Soriano managed to get the save.
