Game 99: Colon Getting Right

Bartolo Colon went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs, an outing good enough to get him his 2nd win since returning from the disabled list.

The Yankees offense knocked Gio Gonzalez out of the game quickly as he surrendered 6 runs over 4.2 innings with 111 pitches. Curtis Granderson hit a no-doubt, two-run home run into right field off of the A’s All-Star lefty.

A rare bad outing by All-Star relief pitcher David Robertson called upon All-Star, and future HOF, Mariano Rivera earlier than usual to close out today’s game as Rivera went 1.1 innings to seal the win.
