Surprised this hasn’t happened a lot more during the Captain’s summer farewell tour, but tonight it did. During the bottom of the sixth inning a crazed fan jumped onto the field at Miller Park and charged towards Derek Jeter, apparently looking for a hug from the iconic shortstop. “You’re going to get in trouble, man.”  And then… “Look out.” said Jeter in his post game interview.

Fan didn’t get much closer after he was tackled by security and quickly escorted off the field. It was a little scary for Jeter, but he joked and smiled about it after the game. So far the fans have great at every visiting park so far, and Jeter has enjoyed it. He said after Wednesday’s game in Anaheim the experience was “neat.” All fans looking to catch a glimpse of the Captain need to do like the majority of us, through the stands. You’re not going to get any TV time or get on ESPN Sportcenter’s Top 10 nowadays, so just use your head or this will happen.
