Yankees ALCS Game 3 Lineup: 10/16/12

The Yankees are in Detroit down 2-0 and facing arguably the best pitcher in the Major Leagues tonight in Justin Verlander.  The bats have been silent and frozen to say the least, so in this game Joe Girardi is truly mixing up the lineup to try to find some life in the Yankees bats.  Girardi kicks off the games in Detroit with Alex Rodriguez and Nick Swisher riding the pine, while starting Brett Gardner, Nunez, and Eric Chavez.  Risky?  Ehhh – not even in the least – I would say it is a move that should have happened well before game three.  Let’s hope some of these lineup moves can light a fire under the butts of the Yankees players! Phil Hughes is on the mound, and looking for another solid outing.   Follow us on Twitter throughout the game @BronxPinstripes
