Michael Pineda (9-7, 3.97 ERA) closes out the Rangers series against Yovani Gallardo (7-9, 3.19 ERA.) Pineda has lost his last two starts, giving up nine runs on 14 hits through 11 2/3 innings in that time. He faced Texas at the stadium back in May, giving up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits, two of them homers, through six. In four career starts against them, he is 0-3 with a 5.04 ERA.

Gallardo has also had a rough last two starts. He lasted just four innings and gave up five runs in both of them dropping him to 0-3 with a 6.52 ERA in his last four. In his nine home starts this year, he is 4-4 with a 2.43 ERA. This will be his third career start against the Bombers, holding a 1-1 record with a 4.63 ERA.

Pineda has allowed two earned runs or lessΒ in 11 of his 19 starts this year.

Chase Headley is a 8-22 (.364) with a homer against Gallardo.

The Rangers are 17-28 at home this season, the worst home winning percentage in the league.
