CC Sabathia (4-8, 5.54 ERA) is on the mound for the series finale and will take on Eduardo Rodriguez (6-3, 4.34 ERA). Sabathia gave up five runs in each of his last two starts, his last was against Texas where he was treated for dehydration. He faced Boston back on May 1, giving up two runs over six innings taking a no decision.
Rodriguez has been the most reliable starter for the Sox since Buchholz went down. He has given up three runs or fewer in nine of his 12 starts this year. In his most recent outing against the Rays, he gave up three on six hits through five in a no decision. He faced the Yanks back on July 11, giving up two runs through 6 1/3 taking a win.
