Yankees game 112 preview (8/12/15)

CC Sabathia (4-8, 5.34 ERA) is back in Cleveland to face his old team as he takes on Danny Salazar (9-6, 3.38 ERA). Sabathia is coming off arguably his best outing of the year. He held Boston to one run on three hits and eight K’s through six innings. He is 4-1 with a 2.94 ERA in seven career starts against the team that drafted him 17 years ago.

Salazar is coming into this game on a hot streak. He allowed just one run on three hits to the Angels his last time out. This brought his ERA in the last five games down to 1.53  with 35 K’s and 10 walks through 35 1/3 innings. This will be his first career start against the Yanks.

Tidbits:

Sabathia is 3-1 with a 1.91 ERA in Cleveland since leaving in 2008.

The Yanks are 2-7 in extra innings games this season.

Chase Headley is 7-9 with 12 RBIs with the bases loaded this year.
