Yankees game 114 preview (8/14/15)

Here we go again. Ivan Nova (4-4, 3.52 ERA) and David Price (11-4, 2.35 ERA) will face off for the second time in six days. This time the Yanks travel to Toronto and they will be doing so in second place. Nova had a three game win streak until he faced the Blue Jays Saturday. He was cruising, retiring 16 of 19 batters he faced,ย beforeย he gave up a grand slam in the sixth. The grand salami accounted for the four runs he gave up on four hits through 5 1/3.

Price blanked the Yanks through seven innings on three hits and seven K’s on Saturday. Since joining the Blue Jays, he has given up one run on six hits with five walks through 15 innings. He has given up two runs or less in 13 of his last 15 starts.

 

Tidbits:

Toronto is on an 11 game win streak. One more will set a franchise record.

Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez have four hits in their last 28 and 32 at bats respectively.

The Jays hold a half game lead for first over the Yanks.
