Yankees game 127 preview (8/28/15)

Masahiro Tanaka (9-6, 3.61 ERA) and the Yanks travel down south to take on Williams Perez (4-4, 4.76 ERA) and the Braves. Tanaka gave up four runs on seven hits (one homer) through six in a loss to the Indians. This will be his first time facing the Braves and he is 4-2 with a 1.66 ERA in six starts against the National League.

The rookie Perez lasted 4 2/3 innings against the Cubs, giving up six runs on eight hits (one homer) and walking two in the no decision. He hasn’t gotten a win since June 20.

Georgia native Brian McCann grew up a Braves fan and spent the first nine years of his career in their organization. He is returning to face his former team for the first time since signing with the Yanks as a free agent in 2013.

“I’m just excited. I was hoping to be able to go back there and play and am lucky enough that the schedule matched up and we’re able to go back,” McCann said. “When the schedule came out and I saw it, I was really excited for that. I wanted to go back and play before they knocked down Turner Field.”
