Yankees game 13 preview (4/20/16)

The Yankees will throw Nathan Eovaldi (0-1, 6.94 ERA) at Kendall Graveman (0-1, 2.38) and the A’s in hopes of slowing down their as of late domination. Eovaldi has either blown by opposing batters or left a clunker right over the plate for them to mash. 43% of his outs have come via the K, but he’s allowed 13 hits in 11.2 innings, and four of those left the park. He faced Oakland twice last season, allowing five runs over nine innings taking two no decisions.

Graveman allowed just one run on four hits through six against the Angels, but came away with a no decision. In his 11.1 innings so far this year, he has allowed just seven hits. He has faced the Yanks just once before, giving up three runs on seven hits through 5.2 in a no decision. The Bomber’s bats are 7-18 (.388) combined against him.

Tidbits:

Brian McCann is 3-3 with a homer and two RBIs against Graveman.

The A’s and Yankees are first and second in the AL in bullpen strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Graveman has lost six straight dating back to last season.
