Michael Pineda (9-8, 4.19 ERA) and Rick Porcello (6-11, 5.47 ERA) both make their second start since coming off the DL. Pineda has lost his lass three outings, allowing 14 runs on 20 hits with a 7.88 ERA in that span. His last win, ironically, came against Boston back on July 10 when he held them to one run through 6 2/3 innings.
Porcello threw seven shutout innings against the White Sox his last time out. This is his first time facing the Yanks this season. He beat them his last start against them, going eight innings giving up just two runs last August.
With the rosters expanding, the Yanks are calling up eight players: Rob Refsnyder, Dustin Ackley, Jose Pirela, Rico Noel, Austin Romine, Andrew Bailey, Caleb Cotham and James Pazos

Pineda is 3-1 with a 2.18 ERA, 23 strikeouts and just two walks in four career starts against Boston.
