Yankees game 145 preview (9/16/15)

The Yankees and Rays face off for the final time this year with Luis Severino (3-3, 3.35 ERA) taking on Chris Archer (12-11, 2.95 ERA.) Severino is coming off his shortest outing since being in the Majors. The Blue Jays tagged him for six runs on six hits (two homers) through 2 1/3 innings. He faced Tampa Bay back on September 4, allowing one run in 6 1/3 getting the win.

Archer struck out eight Red Sox his last time out giving up three runs through five. However, his offense didn’t push any runs across for him so he took a no decision. He lost his last outing against the Yanks, allowing five runs on six hits (two homers.)

Tidbits:

Archer is 5-1 with a 2.18 ERA in nine career starts against the Yanks.

Jacoby Ellsbury is hitting 14-21 (.667) with a double and a homer against Archer.

Toronto is still 3 games ahead.
