Michael Pineda (3-0, 3.86 ERA) was originally scheduled to start this game, then got pushed to Friday due to a six man rotation, now hes back starting today after Tanaka landed on the DL. He will go for the sweep against Drew Smyly (0-0, 3.86 ERA) in a day game at the stadium.Β Pineda’s last time out against the Mets was impressive. He gave up one run on five hits with seven strikeouts through 7 2/3 innings.

Smyly made his first start of the season Friday against the Blue Jays. He is still building up his pitch count after starting the season on the DL with shoulder tendinitis. He threw just 4 2/3 innings allowing two runs on four hits, one homer, and striking out five. He is 1-0 with a 1.17 ERA in three career appearances in the Bronx.

The Yanks have won 10 of their last 12.
