Yankees game 25 preview (5/3/15)

The Yankees go for the sweep in primetime with Adam Warren (1-1, 4.35 ERA) and Joe Kelly (1-0, 4.94 ERA) taking the mound. Warren is coming off a solid outing against the Rays in which he allowed one run on five hits with a career best six strikeouts through 5 2/3 innings. He hasn’t gone longer than six innings in his career and the team would like to stretch him out eventually. Boston got five hits off Warren the last time they faced him, four of those hits were from lefties. Left handed batters have a .303 average against him this season.

Kelly had a career high 10 strikeouts against the Blue Jays his last time out. However, he still allowed five runs through six innings. He is averaging 10.65 strikeouts per nine innings this season, a career best. Kelly held the Yankees to one hit over seven innings in his season debut in the Bronx.
