CC Sabathia (0-4, 5.40 ERA) is on the rubber for the rubber match against Mark Buehrle (3-2, 6.75 ERA) and the Jays. Despite CC showing positive signs and improvement, it hasn’t translated into wins. He pitched six innings of two run, seven hit ball against the Red Sox for a no decision his last time out. He is 15-5 with a 3.25 ERA against Toronto in his career. His 3.08 ERA since joining the Yanks is his lowest against any AL East team.
Buehrle is coming off back to back tough outings. After going six innings in his first three starts, he has’t made it out of the sixth in the last two. He allowed a season high eight runs over 4 1/3 innings against the Indians his last time out.
