Yankees game 32 preview (5/10/15)

Happy Mothers Day! Michael Pineda (4-0, 2.97 ERA) goes for the series win against Bud Norris (1-3, 9.75 ERA) and the O’s. Big Mike was lights out against the Blue Jays his last time out. He went eight scoreless innings giving up five hits and just one walk with six K’s. He has won his last six decisions.

Pineda faced the Orioles back on April 13 when he gave up five runs on nine hits, but thanks to a Stephen Drew grand slam he picked up the win. He is 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA in his career against Baltimore.

Norris gave up three runs on seven hits in his last outing against the Mets. All three runs came in the fourth inning and he took the loss but he was able to go seven innings, a season high. Norris faced the Yanks on April 15 giving up three runs on five hits with seven K’s in a no decision. He is 4-0 lifetime against the Bombers with a 3.21 ERA.

 

Tidbits:

Pineda has given up just three walks in his six starts.

Jacoby Ellsbury‘s 11 game hit streak came to an end on Saturday.

Chase Headley and Stephen Drew are batting .412 against Norris.
