Yankees game 33 preview (5/11/15)

The Yankees travel south for four games against the Rays as CC Sabathia (0-5, 5.45 ERA) takes on Alex Colome (2-0, 1.80 ERA). The offense has not been kind to the winless Sabathia, he has received just one run of support in four of his six starts this season. He gave up four runs on nine hits through 6 1/3 innings against Toronto in his last start.

This will be Sabathia’s first start against the Rays this season, the 37th in his career. He has 14 losses against them which is his most against any opponent, and the most by any pitcher against the Rays. He is 12-14 lifetime with seven losses in his last nine decisions.

Colome held the Red Sox to two runs on four hits in five plus innings his last time out. He has 10 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched this season. He has made two starts against the Yankees in his career and didn’t allow an earned run in either one. He gave up three unearned runs in 4 1/3 innings on June 22, 2013 and threw 6 2/3 shutout innings last September.
