Yankees game 38 preview (5/16/15)

CC Sabathia (1-5, 5.20 ERA) looks to make it back to back wins against Danny Duffy (2-2, 5.67 ERA) and the Royals. Sabathia earned his first win of the season after waiting more than a year. He allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits through seven innings against the Rays striking out nine. In 45 innings this year he has K-ed 38 and walked just 10. The Royals haven’t had much luck against Sabathia. This will be their 37th time seeing the big lefty tying the Tigers and Rays for the most opposing starts in his career.

Duffy allowed season highs with six earned runs and six walks to Texas on Monday. He’s thrown 4 2/3 combined innings in his last two starts after going at least five innings in each of his first five.

Tidbits:

Kendrys Morales (6-for-17) and Omar Infante (8-for-35) have homers off Sabathia.

This series features two of the top bullpens in the Majors. The Royals have a League best 1.65 bullpen ERA and the Yankees have a 2.29 ERA.
