Yankees game 39 preview (5/17/15)

Chris Capuano is back from the DL to get the series win against Edinson Volquez (2-3, 3.19 ERA). Capuano will make his first start of the season after going down in Spring Training with a strained right quadriceps. He is taking Chase Whitley‘s spot in the rotation after he went down with a partial tear in his UCL. This will be his first career appearance against the Royals.

Capuano won his most recent Minor League rehab start on Tuesday, throwing six innings of two run, seven hit ball for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He walked none and struck out three.

Volquez allowed four runs in five innings against the Rangers in a no decision. He has allowed two home runs in 42 1/3 innings this year.
