Yankees game 45 preview (5/25/15)

Happy Memorial DayJeremy Guthrie (4-2, 4.75 ERA) and the Royals come to town for a three game set. First up for the Bombers, Nathan Eovaldi (3-1, 4.73 ERA). Eovaldi only lasted four 1/3 innings his last time out against the Nationals allowing five runs on seven hits. His ERA has gone from 3.81 to 4.73 in his last four starts. He has also given up six or more hits in all eight starts this season while the Royals have won six of their last eight and have at least six hits in each. This will be his first career start against the Royals.

Guthrie had the bases loaded with one out in the first innings against the Reds his last time out, but pitched himself out of it. He got his third straight win blanking Cinci through six innings giving up five hits and walking two.

 

Tidbits:

The Yankees are batting .198 in 11 day games this season, while the Royals are batting .300 in 12 day games.

Omar Infante is 2-3 against Eovaldi and is the only KC bat who has faced him.

The Royals have won six of their last eight while the Yanks have lost 9 of their last 10.
