Nathan Eovaldi (5-2, 3.95 ERA) toes the rubber for the rubber match against Jake Odorizzi (2-2, 3.46 ERA) and the Rays. Eovaldi has looked like theĀ ace of the staff over his last four outings. He holds a 2.16 ERA overĀ that span and has gotten the W in each. In his last outing against Toronto, he pitched six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits. He has a 4.97 career ERA against Tampa Bay.
Odorizzi blanked the Marlins over five inning in his lastĀ start, but it took him over 100 pitches to do so. He is 3-4 with a 5.06 ERA in his career against the Yanks, the highest ERAĀ against any opponent he’s made at least four starts against.
