Adam Warren (3-3, 3.91 ERA) and Jesse Chavez (1-5, 2.44 ERA) close out the four game set at O.co. Warren gave up one run through 6 1/3 innings against the Royals his last time out, helping his case of keeping his spot in the rotation. With Tanaka coming back, either he or Chris Capuano will be out of a job. Joe Girardi said, “Warren is pitching as well as anyone in our rotation right now.”
Chavez has a decent era but only one win to show for it. His last time out against the Tigers he gave up just one run in eight innings but took the tough luck 1-0 loss.
