Yankees game 76 preview (6/28/15)

The Astros series comes to a close with Michael Pineda (8-4, 4.25 ERA) and Collin McHugh (8-3, 4.80 ERA) on the bump. Big Mike took a beating his last time out against Philly, giving up eight runs on 11 hits through just 3 1/3 innings. This will be his second start against Houston. He allowed two earned runs in six innings taking a no decision back in August 2014.

Everything is good. I feel very strong. Sometimes you have a really bad game like that. You don’t have control for that, so you continue working and get ready for next time. -Michael Pineda

McHugh is 2-0 with a 3.21 ERA in his last two outings. He held the Angels to two runs on nine hits through eight innings in his last start. He has walked two or less in 14 of his 15 starts this year, and in his last 25 he is 15-3 with a 3.55 ERA.Β Since allowing eight runs in a three inning start on June 13, McHugh has calmed down, allowing just five runs and striking out 14 in his last 14 innings.
