The Arizona Fall League held Opening Day today, and there were seven Yankees prospects on hand with the Scottsdale Scorpions. One of which was Dellin Betances, who had one of the most disastrous seasons for a “top” prospect in recent history. Betances entered today’s game in relief, and picked up right where he left off after his June demotion to Double-A Trenton.

Yankees batters
David Adams: 1-3, 2B, BB
Slade Heathcott: 0-3, BB, K
Austin Romine: 1-3, 2B, R, BB

Yankees pitchers
Dellin Betances: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, WP; 28 pitches (13 strikes)

In addition to these four players, the Yankees also assigned Danny Burawa, Mark Montgomery, and Zachary Nuding to the Arizona Fall League. You can read my full game story on today’s Fall League opener here.
