The David Adams era is set to begin in New York.
Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reported on Saturday morning that the 25-year-old Adams will join the Yankees as a full-time third baseman when he is eligible to be added to the major league roster on May 15.
Adams is hitting .325/.411/.494 with two home runs and nine RBI in 23 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season and has seen time at first, second, and third base.
Because Adams was released and re-signed prior to the end of spring training MLB rules prohibit Yankees from adding him to the 40-man roster again before May 15.
