AAA: Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
Russell Branyan hit his sixth home run of the season tonight in the 10th inning, breaking a 2-2 tie and giving the Yankees the victory. He reached base four times tonight, going 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and two RBI. Chris Dickerson (2-5, 2 2B, 2 R), Ronnier Mustelier (2-for-5, 2 2B, RBI), and Ramiro Pena (3-f0r-4, 2B) all did their fair share offensively in this one as well. D.J. Mitchell put forth a quality start, tossing seven innings while allowing just three runs on six hits. He also struck out six hitters. Ryota Igarashi was the pitcher of record for the Yankees though, after having pitched a scoreless tenth inning.

AA: Trenton Thunder
The Thunder recorded a season-high in runs, 19, and hits, 22, on Saturday night as they defeated Harrisburg 19-9. Brett Marshall had started and struggled mightily, allowing six runs (five earned) and eleven base runners in six innings. Fortunately for Marshall, the offensive explosion kept him in line for the win, moving him to 7-3 on the season. Offensively, every started contributed at least one hit, but it was truly the Jose Pirela show. The Thunder third baseman went 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored and 4 RBI, including a three-run home run in theΒ  third inning. David Adams matched him in hits with a 4-for-6 performance and a pair of runs scored. Pirela’s home run was far from the only one, as Melky Mesa, Luke Murton, Jose Gil, and Addison Maruszak all homered as well. Blog favorite Cody Johnson went 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of runs scored.

High-A: Tampa Yankees
Three Yankees appeared in tonight’s FSL All-Star Game:

Rob Segedin started in CF, going 0-for-3.
J.R. Murphy entered at catcher in the 5th, and went 0-for-1 with a throwing error.
Mark Montgomery recorded two outs in the 8th inning, both by strikeout. However, he also allowed three runs on a hit and two walks.

Class A: Charleston RiverDogs
The biggest news of the night for Charleston was that star OF Tyler Austin returned from the disabled list, going 1-for-4 with a double. Austin had been out since June 7th with a bruised foot. However, four errors (Angelo Gumbs, Cito Culver twice, and Casey Stevenson) w0uld cost Charleston the game, 5-4. Gary Sanchez continued on his recent hot streak, hitting his fourth home run in five games as part of a 3-for-4, 2 RBI night. Overall, the pitching was not terrible. Wilton Rodriguez allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings. Brett Gerritse would get saddled with the loss due to an error by Cito Culver, though he allowed just one unearned run in two innings of work.
