A natural third baseman, Tampa outfielder Rob Segedin worked to make the conversion towards becoming a regular right fielder this past off-season. Tonight, he will learn another new position, this time on the fly as he starts in center field for the North Division in the Florida State League All-Star Game. He has never played the position during his professional career. Segedin will be hitting seventh in the North Division’s line-up in the game, which starts at 7:05 EST tonight. J.R. Murphy and Mark Montgomery were also named to the team representing the Tampa Yankees, who are currently last in the North Division with a 28-36 record.

The 23-year old Segedin is hitting .292 with six home runs and 33 RBI for Tampa this season.
