Sources tell Dan Pfeiffer & Matt Kardos of the Rolling Thunder MLBlog Network that Tony Franklin is leaving the Trenton Thunder after a less than stellar 2014. The team went 67-75, so he will be reassigned. The Yankees want to keep him in the organization so he should wind up with one of their affiliates. He was a great fielder when he played in the minors so he could land working with important fielders in the farm system.

Franklin has been the Thunder manager since 2007 and has led them to four division titles and three Eastern League championships (2007, 2008 & 2013.) On June 2nd, 2012 he won his 1,000th career regular season game and he has the most wins by an Eastern League manager. No word yet on who will take his place.
