2014 schedule released

Major League Baseball released the schedule for the 2014 season today. Here’s a look at some games to look forward to next season:

Opening Day, Tuesday April 1st at HoustonThe Yankees begin the 2014 campaign on the road against the Astros who will be entering their second year in the American League. Afterwards, New York heads up north to Toronto for three with the Blue Jays before heading home.

Home Opener, Monday April 7th vs. BaltimoreAL East rival Baltimore comes to the Bronx as fans will get a chance to see their Yankees in person for the first time.

Showdown with the Red Sox: The Sox come in on Thursday, April 10th for four games. The Yankees travel to Fenway nearly two weeks later on April 22-24 for a weekday series. Other series dates include:

Home – Friday June 27-29
Away – Friday August 1-3
Home – Tuesday September 2-4
Away – Friday September 26-28 – FINAL SERIES OF SEASON


Subway Series:
The annual Subway Series begins at Yankee Stadium on Monday, May 12 as the Yanks play the Mets for two. After those games, the series switches over to Citi Field for two more.

Trip to the Northside: The Yankees play the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field as Alfonso Soriano returns to play his former team for two games. The series begins Tuesday, May 20th.

Senior Circuit matchup: The Yankees will play the Cardinals from Busch Stadium for three games starting on May 26th.

All-Star Game: Tuesday, July 15th from Minnesota

Away against the Brewers, May 9-11
Home against the Pirates, May 16-18
Home against the Reds, July 18-20
