Albert Abreu named AFL Player of the Week

22-year old Albert Abreu has been named Player of the Week in the Arizona Fall League.

Abreu joined the Yankees last offseason, as he came over from Houston as one of the players featured in the Brian McCann trade. The Dominican native started 2017 at the Rookie level, but was promoted to High-A Tampa early in the season.

Through four starts in the Arizona Fall League, Abreu has recorded an impeccable 0.90 ERA while racking up the strikeouts. He currently ranks as the Yankees’ seventh highest rated prospect according to mlb.com, fourth among pitchers.
