Carlos Beltran completed his third straight day of batting practice without any issues and will finally head out to Tampa tomorrow for his rehab assignment. Beltran seemed happy and ready to get going. After today’s session he said he feels fine and there is no pain. Here’s what Beltran said this afternoon regarding his rehab plans, “I feel really good, I have no discomfort,” Beltran said. “I will be heading to Tampa this afternoon to start rehab games tomorrow. I am a hundred percent, I have no pain and that was basically what we were trying to achieve with the treatment and cortisone shots.”

Beltran will start out taking extended spring training at-bats in Tampa and will then probably play in a minor league game somewhere along the way. But the feeling around the club us he could rejoin the team when the Yankees head out west on a 10-game road trip after this home stand. No exact date was given but possibly in about ten days and he could be activated, as long as there are no setbacks.

The only other news on Beltran was reported by ESPN NY earlier today, they were told that Beltran has a small crack in the bone spur, which could be an issue down the road. It might sound bad, but it’s nothing that the Yankees didn’t already know. The only hope is that it does not become dislodged, which could cause Beltran some pain. Either way it isn’t stopping Beltran nor the Yankees from sending him out on his rehab assignment. Beltran has been sidelined since May 13 with a right elbow injury.
