This award is a summation of Didi’s torrid start to the 2018 season. The Yankees shortstop has posted a .340 batting average with 10 home runs and 30RBIs during the first 27 games of the season. His more advanced numbers are equally impressive: they include a 2.2 WAR, .766 Slugging pct., and 1.202 OPS. Didi has also played a Gold Glove-caliber shortstop and is one of the team’s leaders on and off the field.
Could this award be a preview of what’s to come? M-V-P anyone?
