The Yankees are heading back home. From 1951-1998 PIX11 was the television home of the Bombers, and a new deal struck Thursday will see the two reunited. Tribune Media, PIX11’s parent company, reached a multi-year deal with the YES Network to start airing games in 2015. PIX will air 21 games and YES will air 125.

“We are eager to enter into this new chapter with PIX11,” said YES President & CEO Tracy Dolgin. “We look forward to working with PIX11 to bring all of the excitement, tradition and passion of Yankees baseball to fans throughout the Tri-State area. At the same time, we have appreciated working with My9, which had been our local broadcast partner since 2005.”

President of Broadcast Media for Tribune Broadcasting Larry Wert stated, “we are extremely excited to be bringing Yankees baseball back to PIX11 and we’re looking forward to a great season. For nearly 50 years, the Yankees were synonymous with PIX11, we’re thrilled to renew that partnership. This agreement is another demonstration of PIX11’s commitment to offer its viewers the best news, sports and entertainment programming in the Tri-State area.”

The terms of the deal weren’t released, but the Yanks will average about 20 games a year on PIX for at least four years. With PIX also being home to the Mets through 2017, there will be about 45 games a year on the station.
