Judge, 23, started the year in Double-A where he dominated pitching, hitting .284 with 12 homeruns and 44 RBI, earning a promotion to Triple-A. The 6’7″ outfielder has only appeared in three games with one hit in 10 at-bats including two RBI’s at the Triple-A level. His rapid development through the minors has garnered the attention of the Yankees and Major Leauge Baseball. Judge was the Yankees first round selection in the 2013 draft at 32nd overall out of Fresno State University.
Sanchez, 22, is a highly touted prospect that has spend his entire major league career in the Yankees organization as a catcher. The young catcher is hitting .256 in Double-A with eight long balls and 28 RBI in 45 games. Sanchez was signed as an international free-agent in 2009 by the Yankees at the age of 16.
As both players try to continue pushing their way to the Major Leagues, the Futures Game will give both an opportunity to show off their talent and potentially springboard the youngsters to the Majors in the near future.
