The Yankees are hoping to get a key cog in their bullpen back in the coming weeks. Tommy Kahnle reportedly tossed a successful 20-pitch bullpen session and is currently eyeing the end of May to rejoin the team.
Tommy Kahnle threw 20 pitches in bullpen – fastball, changeup, slider. Said arm felt “great,” believes velo was good. Expects to be back by the end of the month.

Kahnle was placed on the 10-day DL on April 17th with tendonitis in his throwing shoulder after struggling out of the gate this season. The normally dominant righty had a bloated 6.14 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in six appearances, and his fastball velocity dipped noticeably in his outings. Kahnle will look to regain his form from 2017 when he pitched to a 2.59 ERA in 69 appearances with the Yankees and White Sox.
Through the first 35 games of 2018, Yankees’ relievers have a 3.49 ERA in 126 innings and have tallied 179 strikeouts.
