The ball that hit Mitchell in the face has been well documented. Luckily enough, he did not spend much time away from the game. Mitchell suffered a nasal fracture that sidelined him for a little over a week.
He will most likely come back as reinforcement in the bullpen and as a spot starter in case the Yankees want to give Masahiro Tanaka and Michael Pineda extra days rest.
Having everyone healthy is important for the Yankees who see themselves 1 1/2 games behind the red hot Toronto Blue Jays. With Mitchell back and seemingly healthy, he could be a big piece out of the bullpen for the stretch run.
