Pettitte heads to DL

It’s almost becoming laughable. Another Yankee has landed on the disabled list – this time it’s Andy Pettitte’s turn, according to Mark Feinsand of the Daily News. Pettitte felt tightness in his trapezius muscle last night in the fifth inning and was removed from the game. Although the team isn’t worried about the injury and believe it to be minor, they are being careful with the soon-to-be 41-year-old veteran.

Vidal Nuno, who pitched in game two of Monday’s doubleheader against Cleveland, will take Pettitte’s spot in the rotation. The Yankees will give Pettitte some time with the hopes that he won’t be shelved for longer than 15 days.
