Report: A-Rod healthy, ready to play

In what has become the drama of all dramas in recent weeks, there’s a new twist to the Alex Rodriguez story.

Moments ago on Mike Francesa’s radio show on WFAN, a doctor who examined A-Rod says that the embattled All-Star does NOT have a quad injury. In fact, he deemed Rodriguez 100 percent healthy.

A-Rod went to Dr. Michael Gross, Chief of Orthopedics at Hackensack Medical Center for a second opinion after an original MRI showed a Grade 1 quad strain. “I looked at his MRI this morning. I spent about 20 minutes going over it. To be perfectly honest, I don’t see any sort of injury there,” Gross said. Gross added that a strain is a clinical diagnosis, which depends on the person’s symptoms. Therefore, “It’s not impossible not to see it on an MRI” even if a person has been daignosed with a “strain.”

A-Rod reportedly feels great and told Gross he is ready to play; he arrived in Tampa today for “rest and treatment” on the quad. This obviously opens up a whole can of worms now and adds fuel to the conspiracy fire of why it seemed like A-Rod would be shut down for a few weeks if he’s healthy? With Derek Jeter possibly coming back this weekend, Alex Rodriguez may join him as well – although this recent news can’t be making the Yankees happy.
