Report: Yankees among teams inquiring about Pat Neshek

Not only are the Yankees looking for rotation and first base help, they’re also interested in adding a piece to their ‘Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde’ pen.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Yankees are among teams inquiring about Philadelphia Phillies reliever Pat Neshek. Other teams that are interested in Neshek’s services are the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bays. It’s worth mentioning that all talks for Neshek are fluid, and there is no clear leader in the ‘Neshek Sweepstakes’.

Neshek is having a dominant season for the Philadelphia Phillies, going 2-2 with a 1.21 ERA in 37.1 innings. The Yankees bullpen has been a weak point for the team this season, especially with players such as Tyler Clippard, Dellin Betances and Aroldis Chapman struggling in their respective roles.

The Yankees have also been linked to ex-Yankee and current Chicago White Sox closerΒ David Robertson. However, there has been no traction as of yet.
