Slade Heathcott to make rehab start

Yankees outfielder Slade Heathcott is expected to make his first rehab start for Double-A affiliate Charleston RiverDogs tonight.

Heathcott is hoping to return to the big league club soon. He has been out since injuring his quad in May. It was a grade 2 quad strain, which takes a while to heel. However, Heathcott is on track with this his first rehab assignment.

In his short time with the Yankees this season, Heathcott hit .353 in 18 plate appearances for the Bombers.

The 24-year-old is starting in center field and batting second for Charleston.
