Yankees announce second round of cuts

After today’s game against the Braves, the Yankees announced they made a few more roster cuts, narrowing down the opening day lineup even more. The cuts:

OF Ben Gamel (AAA Scranton)

RHPs Tyler Cloyd, Mark Montgomery, and Vinnie Pestano

LHP Richard Bleier

INF Jonathan Diaz and Donovan Solano

The moves do not include big names like last week’s cuts, but we are now seeing what manager Joe Girardi sees as his opening day 25 man roster. Opening day is about three weeks away, and so far, there have not been any big surprises from Yankees camp.
