Michael Pineda has had a roller coaster year, from the pine tar incident to multiple injury setbacks. But have the Yankees had enough of Pineda? There are rumors swirling around Pineda that the Yankees would consider non-tendering Pineda if he cannot make it back this year, putting the ultimatum on Pineda to get healthy or get packing. On the other hand they might just decide to shut him down for the rest of year. Either way the news isn’t good for Pineda.

Pineda was on track to come back in July, but another setback might have the Yankees brass questioning if it’s even worth keeping him around. Manager Joe Girardi told ESPN New York Friday that a realistic date for Pineda would be sometime in August. Pineda has been out since late April with a grade 1 strain of his teres major muscle, just below his right shoulder. He is arbitration eligible in 2015, putting the Yankees in tough spot. Hopefully Pineda can come out of this healthy and ready to go, but if not don’t be surprised if we’ve seen the last of him in pinstripes.
