Yankees fields in Tampa named after legends

While the stadium across the street is no longer named “Legends Field”, the four fields at the Yankees’ minor league complex have now been named after a handful of past legends.

The fields correlate to the jersey number worn by each former player:

1: Billy Martin Field
2: Derek Jeter Field
3. Babe Ruth Field
4. Lou Gehrig Field

All of the numbers have been retired by the Yankees with the exception of Jeter, who’s expected to be enshrined in Monument Park in the near future. The complex isΒ used by minor leaguers during spring training and extended spring training, as well as rookie-level Gulf Coast League teams.
