Yankees hold team meeting to FaceTime Dustin Fowler

The Yankees had an unfortunate 24 hours, ranging from a late night loss to the Chicago White Sox to losing Dustin Fowler for the remainder of the season for a ruptured tendon.

Prior to the series against the Houston Astros, the Yankees held a team meeting which caused massive speculation on Twitter.

So what was the team meeting for? Were the Yankees going to discuss their poor play in June? Or did one of the veterans call a meeting to give the young kids a pep-talk?

The answer is…neither.

As it turns out, Joe Girardi gathered the entire team to FaceTime Fowler, who underwent surgery on his ruptured tendon last night. Fowler is expected to be released from a Chicago hospital later today before flying to New York to meet with Dr. Chris Ahmad.

Fowler should be healthy in time or Spring Training, but it is unfortunate he didn’t get a chance to get an official at-bat. Still, it was very sweet of the Yankees to take time to check in on their top prospect, and everyone will be counting the days until Fowler is healthy and playing baseball again.
