Report: Yankees to interview additional managerial candidates

Over the past few weeks, the New York Yankees revealed their five candidates for the recently vacant managerial position; Aaron Boone, Chris Woodward, Eric Wedge, Rob Thomson, and Hensley Meulens.

However, the Yankees recently announced they plan to expand their search, and are in no rush to name a new skipper.

Ken Rosenthal of The Atlantic reported the Yankees plan to interview additional managerial candidates. The list beyond the five initial candidates is unknown at the time.

Following their elimination from the American League Championship Series, the Yankees parted ways with 10-year managerΒ Joe Girardi. Yankees GM Brian Cashman later added that it’s possible the team could be without a manager by the Winter Meetings, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

The Yankees are currently the only team searching for a manager.
