Yankees Jeter Likely Out Several Games

With the way Jeter is swinging the bat lately, this is a very big blow to the Yankees as they prepare for the Boston Red Sox series.  Nunez will have to shoulder the load at short, and step up his defensive play!

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Yankees believe Derek Jeter (knee) will miss “several games.”

Jeter bruised his knee in the first half of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Orioles and was unable to play in the night contest. He could be sidelined for the Yankees’ entire three-game series against the Red Sox that begins this Tuesday and ends this Thursday. Eduardo Nunez will presumably fill in at shortstop.

That's a shame… Jeter has been one of their more productive players since the All Star Break. Check out this article on Jeter and others: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AivVSkHw979

His body may say no but he's got too much passion to let it stop him. Hopefully his body doesn't hold him back or slow him down too much that his persistent attitude to play doesn't come back to haunt us in the series and even in the long run of this season.
