Yankees officially add Clint Frazier to the roster

Following Friday night’s win against the Houston Astros, it was speculated the Yankees would bring up outfielder Clint Frazier. Today, the Yankees officially added Frazier to the roster.

The Yankees signed Frazier to a Major League contract and added him to the 25-man roster. As a corresponding move, the Yankees optioned Miguel Andujar to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees also transferred Dustin Fowler from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Fowler is slated to miss the rest of the season after rupturing his tendon in the first inning of Thursday night’s loss to the Chicago White Sox.

In 73 games with Scranton, Frazier hit .257/.345/.474 with 12 homers and 42 RBI.

Frazier will wear No. 30 and will bat ninth in tonight’s lineup, giving Yankees phenom Aaron Judge the night off.
